For Indiana-born Kara Ford, music has been a lifelong passion. Introduced to the infectious R&B classics of the ’90s through her father’s CD collection, she spent her teenage years glued to MTV, soaking in back-to-back music videos, and covering her favorite songs on guitar and piano. It was only natural that she’d end up in the music industry in some capacity—she just didn’t know that DJing would become her calling.

Now based in Los Angeles, Kara has spent the past eight years behind the decks, curating soundtracks for everything from high-end corporate events to weddings, private parties, brand activations, and nightlife spots. Her ability to blend genres seamlessly—spinning everything from deep house, funk, disco, and R&B to Top 40 and nostalgic 90s/00s throwbacks—has made her a go-to DJ for diverse crowds and major brands. She’s had the privilege of working with clients like Nike, Google, Disney, HBO, Zillow, Bentley, Porsche, and Under Armour, as well as playing corporate conferences in Vegas and holding residencies at various LA bars and lounges.

With every event, Kara brings an intentional approach to music, crafting a vibe that fits the moment, keeps people engaged, and feels anything but typical.
